Renovations Create Community Hubs at Casa

If you’ve visited Casa de las Campanas recently, you couldn’t have missed some of the changes we’ve made, and possibly caught wind of others on the horizon.

This year, the first phase of our comprehensive renovation plan was completed when we opened the Salon de Casa in January, and The Bistro just a few months later.

Filled with natural light and accented with high-end finishes and a professional layout, the on-site salon feels more resort than retirement community. But it’s not all look and no substance – the salon boasts a range of services, including professional hairstyling, manicures and pedicures.

Whether residents are preparing to entertain guests on campus, or getting ready to catch the latest show at the San Diego Civic Theatre, the salon offers a convenient, affordable option.

The Bistro sheds formality, uniquely blending Casa’s delectable menu with a more casual, laid-back dining atmosphere. Open for breakfast, lunch and extended hours in the afternoon, it boasts various lounge areas, fireplaces, an open kitchen, and even La Tienda, the community’s on-site convenience store.

Residents are able to dine in or carry-out, perfect for neighbors who want to catch up over a quick bite to eat, or the couple who wants to grab something for the road on their way to the Padres game at Petco Park.

An additional dining option for residents is currently under construction. With an anticipated opening of January 2017, the Norte formal dining room will feature a larger and more modern formal dining area complete with two private dining rooms. Along with space for outdoor dining, residents will also enjoy the outdoor grills, fireplaces and fantastic views.

A lot has changed since we first opened our doors nearly 30 years ago, including the desires and expectations of residents who call Casa, well, Casa. Senior living certainly isn’t what it used to be, and these renovations will help ensure we continue to meet the vibrant, flexible lifestyles our residents demand in their retirement.

Casa de las Campanas is a CCRC, and soon-to-be Life Plan Community, located north of San Diego on I-15. Have questions about the salon, The Bistro, or other renovation plans? Call 858-683-3995, or check back here for more updates.
